Web Site Redesign Considerations

The Redesign of a web site is a great opportunity to comprehensively review your website’s content to make sure it’s up-to-date and identify what is missing. A few critical considerations should include:

  • What are your primary online and offline business objectives with the site redesign? What are your secondary objectives?
  • If your visitors are unable to easily find important information on your website, make it more prominent or place it in multiple places.
  • Lack of relevant content and outdated content will have your visitors leaving and never coming back. Update content and photographs, include videos (under 2 minutes), people love (and search engines) fresh stuff.
  • Add a feedback form to solicit visitor advice.
  • Add social elements to your website such as comment and poll voting plugins, organize contests, add Twitter and Facebook buttons. Encourage people to talk to each other, so they will visit your site more often.
